Hello I'm Sarah Bradbury, a fully qualified, insured Yoga Instructor, specialising in Yoga Nidra, the art of deep relaxation.

We have all read the benefits of relaxation, but if you are anything like me, I found it very hard to sit still, switch off and felt guilty taking any downtime.
This is why I love Yoga Nidra and am on a bit of a mission to introduce it to as many people as possible. It is so simple anyone can do it, regardless of age or ability, and you certainly don't need any experience of Yoga or meditation to practice this.
Yoga Nidra basically involves lying down, nestled in cushions and blankets, and being gently guided through breath work, body awareness and visualisation techniques, which are designed to distract the constant mind chatter, allowing you to fully relax and switch off. The techniques gently allow you to induce the state of Yoga Nidra, whereby you are consciously awake but very deeply relaxed, with nothing else to do but just be.
With regular practice, the calm and relaxed state Yoga Nidra brings will start to imbue all aspects of your life, helping you to be less reactive thus making you more resilient to the stresses and strains of life. And you'll notice better control over that busy mind!
